| What is a
RampMaster II Wall Mount Control? The RampMaster II Wall Mount Control is a controller package designed to "automate" a currently manually controlled kiln. The manually controlled kiln is "plugged into" (or direct wired depending) into the Wall Mount Control. The Wall Mount is then "plugged into" the power supply. Beyond that, the thermocouple is inserted into the kiln and it's ready to go. There are many manually controlled kilns out there and many users would like to automate them without having to throw away a perfectly good kiln. Thus, the reasoning behind the Wall Mount Controls . Can the RampMaster II be used on Any Manually Controlled Kiln? As a general rule, yes! When we speak of manually controlled kilns we speak of kilns fitted with a combination of on/off switches, infinite switches and low-medium-high switches, as well as, Dawson Kiln Sitters. There are some types of kilns
which may have these types of switches, among others, that are not fully
manual. Let's call them semi-automatic? They may use motors to
mechanically rotate switches and the like. In cases like this it's a
judgment call. The odds are that a chaotic effect will result along with
disappointment. Evenheat model series such as TnB and Fyrematic would fall
into this group. Can the RampMaster II be used to Control more than One Kiln? No. The Wall Mount Controls
are designed to control a single kiln only. I see you offer a Handheld Controller Package also, what's the difference between that and the Wall Mount Control? The handheld controller
package works with kilns that are originally designed with automatic
controllers. The Wall Mount Controls are designed to "automate" kilns that
are originally designed with manually operated controls. Can I use the KISS software package with the RampMaster II Wall Mount? Absolutely!
What do I Need to Know When Purchasing? You'll need to provide the voltage, phase, amperage and plug configuration of the kiln. Voltage, phase and amperage can/should be found on the kiln nameplate.
