Dyna-Lift The Dyna-Lift lightens the force needed to operate the kiln lid. It does so with ease and grace and with no negative effects upon the kiln itself. Hallmarks of the design include no kiln body connection, single point lifting and emphasis on allowing the lid to act naturally. We have a lot to tell you about the new Dyna-Lift and why we believe it's the best designed, best performing lift assist available. We invite you to take some time to find out more. |

Dyna-Lift Features
The Dyna-Lift Provides
Lifting Firebrick is a great material for kilns but it can be heavy. The lid on our GTS 2541 weighs a hefty 63lbs.. The Dyna-Lift reduces the amount of force needed to lift this lid to about 8lbs.!! The Dyna-Lift is available for use on a variety of Evenheat models. |

Dyna-Lift Features
The Dyna-Lift is
Connected The Dyna-Lift attaches directly to the kiln stand, not the kiln body. The lifting forces push and pull against the lift's rear post, lifting arm and kiln stand. This kiln-friendly design means no damaging forces are placed upon the kiln wall, hinge or lid. |

Dyna-Lift Features Single Point Lifting at the Natural Lifting Point The Dyna-Lift attaches to the existing kiln handle via a single "link". There's no twisting, no torquing and no other connection. It's the only connection to the kiln and the only one needed. The Dyna-Lift simply lifts where you do and nowhere else. |

Dyna-Lift Features Corner Mounting Technique Corners provide excellent strength for mounting. The Dyna-Lift takes advantage of this by connecting directly to our existing, corner mounted lid handle. The Dyna-Lift adds nothing to complicate or weaken the kiln, instead it works with and takes advantage of the existing, proven bar handle design.

What is a Lift Assist?
A lift assist is a devise
designed to lighten the amount of force needed to open a kiln lid. Some kiln
lids can be quite heavy and any devise that offers lifting assistance is
welcome. The Dyna-Lift offers this assistance. The Dyna-Lift significantly reduces the amount of force
needed to operate the kiln lid. Why No Connection to the Kiln Body or Hinge? Any lift assist devise requires the use of strong forces in order to operate. That's how they work. These forces have to push and pull against something; preferably something built for that purpose. Kiln bodies aren't built for that purpose. The purpose of the kiln body is to create the shape of the firing chamber and maintain it. Placing additional forces on the kiln body and hinge area weakens them. While this is true for most kiln shapes it is especially true on oval shaped kilns that have relatively long, flat surfaces. Mounting the Dyna-Lift to the kiln body was not an option. Instead, we designed the Dyna-Lift into the kiln stand itself.
With the Dyna-Lift, lifting
forces are confined to the lifting arm, lifting post and kiln stand. There
are no attachments to the kiln body or hinge area and no damaging forces
are added to these areas. The only attachment point is at the natural
lifting point of the lid. It's a very "kiln-friendly" design
that works remarkably well. What's Important about Single Point / Centered Lift Action?
The Dyna-Lift attaches to the
existing kiln handle via a single "link". There are no other
connections. Lifting from this single, centered
point keeps the lid balanced left to right with no
additional strain upon the lid. This single point concept also negates any
differences seen in the lifting springs. Spring tension varies from spring
to spring as well as with heat and use. With the Dyna-Lift all
spring force is taken to a single point. Any differences in spring tension are
not transformed into torque and will not twist the lid. Why is Free Lid Movement Important?
Lids tend to move around as
they are heated and cooled. It's natural and normal. Kiln hinges are
designed to allow the lid to move freely during these periods. Not
allowing this movement would result in added stress and possible damage to
the kiln. Given that the Dyna-Lift is not connected to the kiln body or
hinge area the kiln lid is allowed to act and react as it normally would.
There are no forces preventing free movement. The lid and kiln body
continue to behave as if the Dyna-Lift were not attached. This means that
the kiln,
hinge and lid are not damaged by the Dyna-Lift. What's the Natural Lifting Point?
The natural lifting point of
the kiln lid
is opposite of the hinge (that's why handles are located here). The
Dyna-Lift attaches to this natural lifting point. It's the only connection to
the kiln and the only one needed. The Dyna-Lift simply lifts where you
do. Very simple. Why is the Corner Mounting Technique Important?
The corners of the kiln body
and lid provide excellent strength for mounting. We install our
hinge and lid handle brackets on these corners for this reason. When we
mount items to the kiln body or lid we mount at these rounded corners
whenever possible. The
Dyna-Lift takes
advantage of this corner mount technique by connecting directly to our existing
corner mounted lid handle. The Dyna-Lift adds nothing to complicate or weaken the kiln, instead it works with
and takes advantage of the existing, proven design. Lid Vent Added!
We're pleased to offer a lid
vent as a part of the Dyna-Lift design. This handy devise allows you to
vent the kiln lid at 3 positions on our glass models and 2 positions on
our ceramic models. These positions offer the following
approximate openings: 1/2", 1-1/2" and 2-1/2". Easy Setup Setup and installation is easy. And yes, we really mean easy. The main component of the Dyna-Lift (post, arm and mounting bracket) are assembled and shipped as one unit. On new kilns, simply assemble the kiln stand and bolt the Dyna-Lift to the stand. Place your kiln on the stand and attach the connecting link. That's it. Disassembly of the kiln is not required. |
