GTS 2541 Available w/  Dyna-Lift  Lid Lift Assist

GTS 2541-9
GTS 2541-13

By far Evenheat's best selling glass kiln. The GTS 2541 offers plenty of room with superior performance. There's no contest, this is the best in the field. If you need space for volume firing or want to keep your options open on piece size, this is the kiln to have.

All hot glass techniques are possible with the GTS 2541. Not only are fusing, slumping and pate de Verre possible but this kiln is very well known for its excellent paint firings (very even).

The GTS 2541 series of kilns is now available with the Dyna-Lift lid lift assist. The Dyna-Lift lightens the force needed to operate the kiln lid. It does so with ease and grace and with no negative effects upon the kiln itself. Hallmarks of the design include no kiln body connection, single point lifting and emphasis on allowing the lid to act naturally.

Features, Specifications and Other Fun Stuff

Control Options:

The GTS 2541 is most commonly ordered with the RampMaster II control. The RampMaster II is our full featured control and brings out the best in the GTS 2541. We also offer our 3 button Set-Pro control as well. The Set-Pro offers a host of practical features at an economical price. Of course we still offer the GTS 2541 with manually controlled infinite switches

We have some very neat options designed for easy viewing and programming of the RampMaster II control. Our Swing View adjustable control option installs the RampMaster II in a swiveled enclosure that allows you to position the control at a user friendly viewing and programming angle. It's quite an improvement over the standard fixed design. For those who prefer a handheld style of devise we offer the Handheld Option. As you can imagine, the handheld option positions the RampMaster II in a handheld enclosure making programming and viewing extremely easy and comfortable. You're going to really enjoy these back saving options.

Power Interrupt Option:

The GTS 2541 is available with the Power Interrupt Option (a.k.a. lid switch). The Power Interrupt Option automatically removes power from all heating elements as the lid is opened and reapplies power as the lid is closed. Those wishing to enter the kiln during firing should strongly consider requesting this option as an added measure of safety. The Power Interrupt Option is available only on RampMaster II and Set-Pro equipped models.

Firing Chamber Dimensions and Options:

Our standard firing chamber dimensions are 25" wide x 41" long x 9" deep (104cm long x 65cm wide x 23cm deep). We can, and do, build the GTS 2541 in a 13.5" (34cm) deep version. This deeper 13.5" version has become extremely popular and has overtaken the standard 9" depth for the top spot. Ask your distributor for the 13.5" when ordering, you're going to love the extra depth.

Suitability:

The GTS 2541 is quite capable of all glass related firing up to 1800°F (982°C), such as painting, fusing, slumping, Pate de Verre, etc.. While it can be used for annealing purposes, there may be better choices, particularly our front loading designs.

It should also be noted at this point, that the GTS 2541 is designed to fire a single layer or shelf. The nature of the GTS 2541 is to provide heat from the lid elements directly to the shelf containing the glass. Attempting to fire glass below the top shelf is likely to lead to frustration and disappointment. So.....one shelf only.

The GTS 2541 is not really designed to fire Ceramic, Porcelain, Pottery, China or other "ceramic" related materials.

Recommended Kiln Furniture (Shelving & Posts):

Given the nature of the "oval" shape of the firing chamber, the GTS 2541 uses multiple shelves to create one shelf layer. Our traditional design requires the use of three, individual shelves to construct one layer or shelf. You'll need two 21" Half Round Shelves - Part # 7421 and one 15" x 21" Rectangular Shelf - Part # 7437

You will also need a quantity of posts to support the shelves. What length? We tend to see glass artists use 2" or 3" posts. How many? Four posts per shelf minimum. Try the 2" Tri Post - Part # 7002 or the 3" Tri Post - Part #7003.

Agency Listings and Markings:

U/L & CU/L listing available on this model. Model features and options may affect listing.
CU/L is a Canadian Listing which is accepted by authorities in all Provinces.

Kiln Vent:

Evenheat offers the Orton Downdraft Vent System as an option. Is venting necessary in glass work? Depends! Vents are nice if you're firing paints, decals or other items that may need oxygen to develop color properly. Vents also help to remove the fumes which may be generated when firing these types of items. Typical fusing and slumping really don't require a vent.
