Jewel Box For the bead maker we offer the Jewel Box. The Jewel Box is a modified Hot Box that contains two chambers: annealing and pre-heating. The upper annealing chamber contains a heating element which is adjustable using the built-in infinite switch and pyrometer. Simply set the desired temperature and you're annealing. The lower chamber allows you to pre-heat the glass rods before use. If you love to work beads you're going to love this handy little oven. As with the Hot Box, the Jewel Box is operated from 120V!! |

Features, Specifications and Other Fun Stuff Control Options The Jewel Box
is equipped with
infinite switches. Firing Chamber Dimensions and Options: Upper Annealing

Chamber Voltage Considerations: The Jewel Box is
designed to work from a typical 120V household receptacle. Power
Receptacle Configuration
NEMA 5-15R. Suitability: The Jewel Box is designed primarily for the annealing of glass beads or other small glass items. Annealing is performed in the upper chamber while pre-heating of glass rods is performed in the lower chamber. As the Jewel Box is a
modification of the Hot Box it is also capable of all glass related firing up to
1800°F (982°C), such as painting, fusing, slumping, Pate de Verre, etc.. When
using the Jewel Box for these purposes it is recommended that the lower
pre-heating chamber be removed. It should also be noted at this point, that when
used in this way, it is designed to fire a single layer or shelf. It's just too
darn small to try more than one! Attempting to fire glass below the top shelf is
likely to lead to frustration and disappointment. So.....one shelf only.
