Liberty Bell

Evenheat introduces the Liberty Bell. Designed
for large studio and production operations.

"Liberty Lift" weight assist design offers easy access to the firing chamber. Self-setting and resetting safety latches secure the bell in place when opened.

Chamber size 74" x 50 x 13". This translates into a 6' x 4' firing surface with ample power to reach temperature with ease.

1650°F (899°C), (Factory Limited) maximum temperature means most types of glass work are possible.

Equipped with the RampMaster II digital control.

Features, Specifications and Other Fun Stuff

Liberty Lift System (Pat. Pending):

The Liberty Bell kiln uses the "Liberty Lift", two post lifting system. This unique system uses a weight assist design that allows the user to effortlessly raise and lower the bell via the included hand crank. The Liberty Lift is a true vertical lift which does not confine and limit as a hinged system does. There is easy access to three sides without having to move the firing table. Of course, rolling the table away from the bell allows for access on all four sides. The Liberty Lift, two post system requires less space than the traditional four post designs. This smaller footprint gives you maximum use of your studio or production area. A smooth, positive chain drive mechanism eliminates slop and uneven lifting often associated with pulley and cable designs.

Self-resetting safety latches securely hold the bell in the open position. Safety latches activate automatically when the bell is raised and must be de-activated manually. As the bell is lowered the safety latches reset automatically.

Self centering stops, built into the Liberty Lift, keep the table properly aligned when repositioning under the bell.

Firing Chamber Dimensions and Data:

Chamber dimensions are 74" wide x 50" long x 13" deep (188cm long x 127cm wide x 33cm deep). The upper chamber (bell) is constructed of a fiber material that offers fast heat up. All heating elements are contained within this bell. The firing surface is constructed of firebrick to offer excellent firing support while maintaining a thermal barrier. Actual firing should be accomplished by using a refractory board and or refractory fiber on the surface of the firebrick (both of which are generally available through your supplier). It's not recommended that firing be done directly on the firebrick.

We use nothing but Kanthal brand element wire during the production of heating elements. It's the best there is. We use it exclusively in all our kilns.

Complete outside dimensions are 87" wide x 74" front to back x 85" tall. These dimensions include the bell, table and entire lifting system. Your firing area should allow for extra room around the Liberty Bell. We suggest at least 18" from any wall surface. You'll also want to allow for room needed to operate the hand crank.

RampMaster II Control:

The Liberty Bell is equipped with the RampMaster II automatic temperature control. The RampMaster II offers 6, user defined programs with 8 segments per program. Your production firings can be created and stored for easy retrieval and use. A host of "On-the-Fly" features make adjustments to the firing quick and precise. The RampMaster II is a tried and true control that makes the Liberty Bell perform to its full potential.

Suitability:

The Liberty Bell is quite capable of all glass related firing up to 1650°F (899°C), such as painting, fusing, slumping, casting, etc.. It's design is intended to offer the artist plenty of room for wonderfully large projects as well as giving the production operation the volume it demands.

As with our other glass kilns, it should also be noted that the Liberty Bell is designed to fire a single layer or shelf. The nature of the Liberty Bell is to provide heat from the lid elements directly to the shelf containing the glass. Attempting to fire glass below the top shelf is likely to lead to frustration and disappointment. So.....one shelf only.

The Liberty Bell is factory limited to 1650°F (via programming) and is not designed to fire Ceramic, Porcelain, Pottery, China or other "ceramic" related materials.

Recommended Kiln Furniture:

As noted above, the Liberty Bell requires the use of a refractory fiberboard or refractory blanket for use on the firing surface. This board/blanket is generally available through your glass supplier. It's recommended that the entire firing surface be covered during use. This aids in heating efficiency as well as maintaining the integrity and support of the firebrick base.

Shipping Weight and Receiving Considerations:

The Liberty Bell is shipped in 2 pieces: bell/table and unassembled lifting system. As you can imagine, this shipment is rather large. A lift truck, with extended tines will be needed to remove the kiln crate from the carriers truck. Outside dimensions of the bell/table are 60" x 81-1/2" (not including shipping pallet and crate). The unassembled stand crate is long but quite narrow. Ship weight approx. 2200lb.
