GTS 18

The GTS 18 is our smallest GTS model. It takes up less floor space yet performs with the same confidence and strength as our larger models.

The GTS 18 features our TAP II, Icon+, Icon and Rampmaster 3 controls and is standard equipped with our exclusive Swing View Adjustable Viewing.

Order yours with our Quiet Drive Solid State relay option for tight temperature control and longer element life.

Features

Top Load

The GTS 18 is a top loading design and offers a chamber 17.5" diameter 13.5" deep.

Full Firebrick Design

The GTS 18 is constructed completely of firebrick.

Firebrick is desired in a glass kiln as it stores heat in the beginning of the firing which acts to smooth out temperature swings. It then releases heat slowly at the completion of the firing resulting in very calm annealing, especially over an annealing range. It's just beautiful.

As with any glass kiln, you want a portion of firebrick in the mix.

Swing View Equipped

GTS 18 temperature controls are fitted to our Swing View Adjustable Enclosure.

The swing view is a pivoting, swing-up enclosure that allows you to rotate the control to a comfortable viewing and programming angle. Once you're done, lay it back down to see it from across your studio. It's that simple.

The swing view pairs well with touchscreen controls like the TAP II, Icon+ and Icon as viewing angle can be perfectly aligned. You'll love it.

Relay Access Port

The GTS 18 incorporates our Relay Access Port for simple, no-panel-off relay replacement.

Simply remove the access plate to gain access to the mechanical relays. There's no need to remove the control panel and dig into the internal wiring. It's absolutely simple and effective and all it takes is a screwdriver!

It's a given that mechanical relays will fail at some point. This relay access port really comes in handy when they do.

Build Options

Multiple Control Options

The GTS 18 is available in a variety of controls including the Icon, Icon+, Tap II and Rampmaster 3.

At Evenheat we take the best control platforms on the market and make them even better by adding Special Limits thermocouples for precise temperature sensing and non-metallic faceplates for stellar Wi-Fi reception for on-line Apps. Visit our Controls tab to learn more about our controls and why they represent the very best that you can get.

Quiet Drive Solid State Relay Option

GTS 18 models are available with our Quiet Drive Solid State Relay option.

Our Quiet Drive Solid State Relay System offers tight temperature control, high reliability and increased heating element life. The Quiet Drive is arguably the best designed and best performing solid state system on the market.

Voltage Options

Our default production for the GTS 18 is 240V, Single Phase.

We do offer to build in 200V, 208V, 220V and 230V by request.

All controls available on the GTS 18 will operate properly on both 50Hz and 60Hz line frequencies. To say it another way, line frequency has no effect. It doesn't matter.

Evenheat recommends that you check your operating voltage before ordering or placing the kiln in service.

Voltage Phase Options

The GTS 18 is available in 3 phase Delta and Wye (380V, 400V and 415V) designs by request.

Accessories

GTS 18 Full Shelf

Full Shelf - 15.5"

We recommend that you always use posts under your shelf to raise it off the floor and suggest starting with 1" posts. You are welcome to use any size post you wish. We do not recommend placing the shelf directly on the kiln floor.

Posts

Posts are used to bring your shelf up and off the kiln floor. Generally speaking you always want to "post-up" your shelves. Posting up allows heat to get to the underside of the shelf which helps to eliminate and minimizes bubbles. It also helps to minimize differences in shelf temperature to avoid breaking.

We suggest 1" posts as a starting point. We do not recommend placing shelves directly on the kiln floor.

Haik Brushes

Our Brushes are a wide and very soft brush used to apply shelf primer.

Shelf Primer - 24oz. (Dry)

Shelf primer creates a layer of protection between the kiln shelf and your glass as it prevents your glass from sticking to the shelf. It is generally applied using a soft brush like our Haik brush. It can also be airbrushed on with the proper equipment.

Our shelf primer of choice is a Hotline product called Hi-Fire. It's supplied in dry form and is mixed with water for application onto the kiln shelves.
