Studio Pro 14

The Studio Pro 14 is a solid choice for the beginning glass artist or small studio. The firing chamber fits a 13" x 13" shelf which can fit a wide range of projects. The Studio Pro 14 is small enough to fit comfortably in any studio area.

The Studio Pro 14 features our Dual Access Design. The Dual Access Design combines traditional front and top loading features into one, truly evolutionary kiln design. The Studio Pro 14 gives you the advantages of both front and top access in a single, dual hinged design that's smooth and precise.

Features

Front Access

The defining feature of the Studio Pro design is its front access. Simply lift the chamber to expose the entire floor. It's wall-free and wide open.

Front access is perfect for glass placement: simply build directly on your shelf and close the chamber. Front access is also great when using tools that require a horizontal approach such as raking, roll ups and manipulation techniques.

Top Access

The Studio Pro 14 features top access as part of the dual access design.

Top access is excellent for the loading of shelves and forms as it allows for easy and precise placement. Top access is also preferred for many vertical-approach manipulation techniques such as embossing.

Full Firebrick Design

The Studio Pro 14 is constructed completely of firebrick including the lid.

Firebrick is desired in a glass kiln as it stores heat in the beginning of the firing which acts to smooth out temperature swings. It then releases heat slowly at the completion of the firing resulting in very calm annealing, especially over an annealing range. It's just beautiful.

As with any glass kiln, you want a portion of firebrick in the mix.

Swing View Equipped

Studio Pro 14 temperature controls are fitted to our Swing View Adjustable Enclosure.

The swing view is a pivoting, swing-up enclosure that allows you to rotate the control to a comfortable viewing and programming angle. Once you're done, lay it back down to see it from across your studio. It's that simple.

The swing view pairs well with touchscreen controls like the TAP II, Icon+ and Icon as viewing angle can be perfectly aligned. You'll love it.

Relay Access Port

The Studio Pro 14 incorporates our Relay Access Port for simple, no-panel-off relay replacement.

Simply remove the access plate to gain access to the mechanical relay. There's no need to remove the control panel and dig into the internal wiring. It's absolutely simple and effective and all it takes is a screwdriver!

It's a given that mechanical relays will fail at some point. This relay access port really comes in handy when they do.

Bench-Top Operation

The Studio Pro 14 is designed to be placed directly on your counter or bench-top or within the included floor stand (see below), the choice is yours.

Bench-top operation positions the kiln at waist level for very comfortable front access use.

Please note that counters and bench tops must be constructed of non-combustible material and be capable of supporting the load of the kiln.

Curved Element Routes

Heating element routes in the Studio Pro 14 lid are all curves. There's not a straight line to be found. These curved routes promote additional element retention.

They are also designed to follow the chamber perimeter which is vitally important for proper temperature distribution.

120V Standard Plug

The Studio Pro 14 operates from 120V and is equipped with a standard North American 120V plug. Connection is very easy.

The Studio Pro 14 is expected to be operated from a dedicated electrical circuit. Please consult with an electrician for supply hook-up.

We do make the Studio Pro 14 in global voltages as well, by request. Please see the Build Options section below for details.

Floor Stand included

The Studio Pro 14 is supplied with a 16" stand for optional floor placement if desired.

Haik Brushes

Our Brushes are a wide and very soft brush used to apply shelf primer.

Shelf Primer - 24oz. (Dry)

Shelf primer creates a layer of protection between the kiln shelf and your glass as it prevents your glass from sticking to the shelf. It is generally applied using a soft brush like our Haik brush. It can also be airbrushed on with the proper equipment.

Our shelf primer of choice is a Hotline product called Hi-Fire. It's supplied in dry form and is mixed with water for application onto the kiln shelves.
